That is one weird picture!
This One Is For Elaine
After I made the display item for Joann’s I was asked to make a bird house for my bosses wife. She loves cardinals. So here is her gift.
Some Whimsy In Between Cleaning
So I was asked by JoAnn’s to try and be more inspirational in terms of ideas for customers. Recently we received a ton of bird houses and they are in a crate as you come in the store, not very inspirational. So I am making a wreath using all items from JoAnn’s of course. This bird house is the first piece to go on. It’s mixed media I love the colors.
Welcome To My Week 12
Clean up has been sporadic at best. Due to my babies graduation from Michigan State University. She is now a Spartan Alumnus. I intend now to go at this cleaning with gusto. I did get everything moved into one room, and eliminated furniture that was old and not white. I have a thing about white furniture, just love it. It’s time to start giving things away again. It’s always the...

Week 11 De-hording
Well at least it’s my week 11. So I have finally finished cleaning up the rubber stamps, which are the thing I have most collected over the years. I don’t know what it is about them that I like so much? They even out number my balls of yarn. Yikes. Any way they are cleaned out and I donated some to salvation army. Someone is going to get lucky. Here is a picture of the old cabinet I...

Week 10 De-Hording
Most of you following this are going to think I am crazy when you read this, but hang with me. Around The Christmas Holidays I bought some celery from the grocery and when I opened it I found two snails. My original reaction ew….but then when they started to move I quickly removed them from the celery and made a little tank for them. Here is where the story gets a little weird. They escaped!...
Week 10 De-Hording
Hey who is really counting the weeks anyway. I think it is week 10. So, I have more time to work on clean out of house since, my job at Joann’s has slowed down and the spring show I was in is cancelled. This is all to the good, girls are moved and there is only a little shake up in the house. We did inherit a blow up mattress for the summer until Jenna is ensconsed in what will be her...
De-Hording Week 9
If you are still with me here is a quick update. One daughter is moved and decided to move all her furniture with her. Yes! The other daughter who is now subletting the older daughters apt. Has taken all the excess college furniture to her apt. Good Bye fouton!!!! This has opened up all sorts of possibilities for a new streamlined studio. Amen! It also means no girls will be moving back home for...

Week #8 Dehording
Just wanted to touch base with anyone who is following this week. I hit a snag. I did not throw a single magazine away yesterday, I wanted to save them all. This is a little scary as I now know what my two hardest things are to get rid of…magazines & rubber stamps, we should throw books in there too. It just seemed like they were full of things I really want to try some day. And as you...
Week 7 Dehording
There is nothing like having your daughter get a new job and have to move to a smaller apt. to put a kink in your down sizing plans. From the pictures I have seen, I am pretty sure we will be getting some big furniture to store at the house. Good thing I was getting rid of some of the odds and ends stuff already. Now there will be room for her stuff. But the blessing is she will be closer to me...
Week 7 Dehording
I am having to slow the pace down a little. Due to limited garbage can space. So this week I am perusing magazines, and recycling the ones that are not relevant anymore. I started this during the less than exciting Super Bowl game…just not into professional football. I am really surprised at just how many I am willing to let go of. There has been quite the stack mounting up to be recycled. I...
Week 6 Dehording
Finally cleaned out all the drawers under that counter. More stuff out the door. A little went to the teacher, some garbage and a little to Ruth. I made sure anything I threw out didn’t work and deserved to be garbage. The rest will hopefully get some good use. So far things are going well. I get sad and anxious sometimes while going through things, but if I ever want to down size this has...
De-hording Week 5
What makes this job so difficult is weighing which things should go and which things still have value and can take up space. Obvious things like the sewing machine, yarn winder etc., are no brainers. Where it becomes difficult is the supplies aspect like yarn, paper, beads, trims etc.. You can see in the picture below that I have supplies, so dealing with storage now becomes an issue. I am trying...

De-Hording Week 4
So the counter in the previous picture is now completely cleaned off and the sewing machine, yarn winder & holder now reside there. It is refreshing to have a spot to work in. I just need to put in the lighting and I will be ready to go. A delivery was made to my friend in crime and she is delivering stuff to the 1st grade teacher and using some stuff for her booth. I am feeling real good...
De-Hording Week 3
As you will see by this picture I have gotten to the bottom of the counter. Yay! I Managed to discard an old shelf, reconfigure yarn storage, and clean out three drawers. The ones that are in the foreground of the picture. I threw away the little white shelf most of it’s contents and the garbage can will reclaim it’s rightful spot where the shelf was. The job is coming along. My...
De-Hording Week 2
So just an update on the de-hording…I went to the intended new sewing area and began to unearth. I decided that the two sets of drawers on either side of the sewing counter would be devoted to one side knitting supplies & crochet, and one side sewing supplies. This is three drawers each side plenty. I worked for about two hours and let me tell you it is hard to decide what you...

First I would like to apologize for being late on my first weekly post, however I did come home Wednesday evening with the flu. I worked my short day on Thursday and have been napping and resting for the last 2 days. I am feeling a lot better. So here goes my first post highlighting my week’s…
Hi love the new blog!
De-Hording Week 2
This area is the little work area that was supposed to be set up to work in. This is highly unlikely in the state it is in. It has become the storage area for yarn, paper, wood, paint, soldiering supplies…you name it. So the idea is to unearth, throw out and organize what will remain. The first challenge will be to make this a sewing area, I.E. be able to sew on this counter. A good idea...
De-hording Week 1
So I realized after talking with my daughter what my blog will be about this year. It is the year of de-hording. This is tough for me. It all started after talking about moving in with my daughter, if she ever moves to Ann Arbor ( love that city )! She without hesitation said that she would never move in with me, I have to much stuff. And then she went into the fact that it was not organized...
Practice Makes Perfect
A new year a new blog look. Trying to find one that reflects my spider name and the new theme. My new idea to come…

Day 205 of 365 Project
So this may possibly be the last post of life according to the Mayan Calendar. I love the face book post about what to do on the last day. It said bake your Christmas Cookies and eat them too. Sage advice. I think I will take it.
Day 204 of 365 Project
Well we are coming to the end of the year and my 365 project will end at whatever day I am on. Since this is only my 204th post, I would say not to far from here. Having a great time at my Joann’s Job, loving the customers especially those who can laugh and have a good time. That’s what this season of Christmas is all about. Just love it.
Day 203 of 365 Project
So I got a very cute surprise today and was blessed to get a picture. It is my daughters cat in our Manger. This year I am adding things to the manger as they happen and so the Manger is currently empty. I was going to add the animals this week and to my surprise one was already in there waiting for the savior to arrive. Is this cute or what. Max in the Manger.
Day 202 of 365 Project
So today is 12-12-12. I wonder if anything extraordinary will happen today. It is almost noon so I guess I will be adding another 12 to this post. The numeral 12, the word 12 … dozen. I was thinking I would search Pinterest and find 12 patterns for the upcoming Spring Show. That sounds like good luck! So far I have only found 4 I need two more rounds at pinterest to make 12. I wonder what I...
Day 201 of 365 Project
This project may not get finished, but the blog will go on and it will have a new theme. The Theme Days of my lock down. The reason will become evident as I go forward with it. It will be a learning process and hopefully new beginnings for me. No resolutions this year, just a blog with a new theme.
Day 200 of 365 Project
I hate to make a mockery over this 365 Project but I finally hit day 200!!!!! Yay!!!! I wanted to show a picture of an interesting way to hide your yarn at work, even if you never take a lunch or break and they owe you a year atleast in breaks and lunch.
Day 199 of 365 Project
The Advent Season is upon us. Such a beautiful time of year in an other wise dark end of the year. Lighting the advent wreath is a special joy for me this year. A reminder to look up and see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me extremely personal right now. I took a picture of the first lighting. Enjoy!

Day 198 of 365 Project
I have switched to a new purse (very small) since at my new job, we have to submit to a purse peek at the end of our shift. Really? So now my purse is so small, no longer personal and no pockets so the manager only has to look in and not paw through.
Day 197 of 365 Project
So today I was able to start on a project I have been wanting to try for a while. It is a three dimensional Ice Skate. It is the traditional Skate using a paper clip (Jumbo) but it is stitched and stuffed. I have a picture partially finished.
